Our Xango Experience

It seems like since the day he was born our eight year old son Alex has been asking for a dog. He loves dogs. He sleeps with about 70 stuffed animals on his bed - all dogs. He reads books about dogs and stories with dogs as characters. He writes stories about dogs. Alex pretty much eats, sleeps and breaths dogs.

Alex’s biggest wish was to have a dog of his very own.

Unfortunately Dave has always been extremely allergic to dogs and cats, to the point that if he had been in the same room for more than a few minutes with a dog, he’d have such a serious asthma attack he’d need his rescue inhaler immediately.

In fact one Christmas a couple of years ago his sister brought her two dogs to their parents house for the weekend where we were to celebrate our traditional Christmas gathering. He lasted about 45 minutes and then had get out of the house. He ended up standing outside in -20F weather as the rest of the family shared gifts. (He really should have went straight to the emergency room that night- it was really that bad.)

Last year about this time Dave started taking Xango and amazing things started to happen. His asthma went from marginally controlled with limited capacity in the severe range to the under control and normal range and his dog and cat asthma disappeared. Over the past six months we have been testing his ability to be around dogs. He started to pet dogs, we visited houses with more than a single dog, and even spent a weekend with dogs.

No problem!

Dave’s asthma was under control. This Christmas, Alex’s wish came true, and we brought home an adorable three month old cock-a-poo puppy we named Buddy.
